Pennsylvanian trio, Eastern Conference Champions (ECC), release their debut single Single Sedative through Island/Fallout Records on Monday 14^th January 2008. Single Sedative is taken from the bands forthcoming album Ameritown, produced Owen Morris (Oasis, The Verve), which is due for release in April.

Eastern Conference Champions have toured the US with the likes of Ambulette, The Films, Ozma, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Black Francis.  They headlined a short UK tour earlier this month and return in April for more dates, which will include a show at the Camden Crawl (April 18^th & 19^th).

Eastern Conference Champions hails from just outside of Philadelphia in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Longtime friends Greg and Josh had already worked together recording with the band Laguardia. Their album Welcome To The Middle (2003) was a critical success, but big-label politics kept the record on ice and left the band high and dry.

The summer of 2004 was a character-building experience for the two, but they are not a couple of guys to bitch and moan about the hand they'd been dealt, instead the friends jumped right back on the horse and the duo were soon joined by their old friend Vern on bass.  They quickly wrote and recorded what would become the material for their first EP The Southampton Collection, released in March 2006. As the boys continued to play, the list of band supporters grew. One fan was Suretone's Jordan Schur, who heard the band's EP and signed the band on the spot.

Ameritown was heaped with critical applause on it release in the US earlier this year. Filter Magazine enthused “a wide musical range that pushes the genre boundaries of classical and rock and roll.” URB Magazine included the band in their “Next 100” list of important up-and-coming acts, enthusiastically endorsing “their fun, fervent blend of indie rock…” while the Los Angeles Times called the album “a charmer.”
