A couple of years ago saw the release of a mammoth 19 disc box set of Sandy Denny recordings covering the entirety of her career, which was received to rapturous reviews from dedicated Denny fans.

Now, luckily for those who perhaps don't have the required 72 hours listening time spare, a new and very special edit of the cream of the crop from these beautiful recordings has just been released.

THE NOTES AND THE WORDS: A COLLECTION OF DEMOS & RARITIES includes the very first recording of 'Who Knows Where The Time Goes', as well as home recordings, demos and alternative versions of Fairport and Fotheringay classics, complete with stunning artwork, photos and notes.

It's a gorgeous collection of songs, made even more awe inspiring by their present day relevance (what with folk music enjoying such a resurgence lately) and which should hopefully introduce Sandy's work to a new generation.
