This week saw a star-studded Q Awards Ceremony 2016 kick off at London’s, celebrating another incredible year in music. Among those nominated were Island artists U2, Jack Garratt and PJ Harvey, who all scooped an award for their incredible work.
The biggest winners on the night were undoubtedly U2. Not only did their spectacular ‘iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE‘ show win them this year’s award for Best Live Act, but the band’s The Edge also picked up an award for Best Guitarist!
PJ Harvey’s new album ‘The Hope Six Demolition Project‘ didn’t just sound great, but came hand in hand with some superb visuals thanks to photographer Seamus Murphy. The two collaborated on the video for ‘Community of Hope’, which won Best Video.
Best Newcomer was certainly no easy category, with the likes of Blossoms, Rat Boy and our very own Spring King all nominated. There was only ever one winner though; Jack Garratt bagged another award to add to his (presumably now rather large!) collection. Well done Jack!
