Aubrey Graham, better known as Drake, is a Toronto-born actor and recording artist who has become the fastest rising newcomer in hip-hop.
Drake has been nominated for two Grammy Awards – for Best Rap Solo Performance and Best Rap Song for “Best I Ever Had.” His nationally broadcast performance of “Forever” alongside Lil Wayne and Eminem closed out the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards.
He also received the Breakthrough Artist nomination for Best Hip-Hop Newcomer of the Year at the American Music Awards as well as multiple MTV VMA, MTVU and BET Awards nominations and wins. He charted recent success with his first single “Best I Ever Had,” which was #1 on Billboard Rap Charts and # 2 on Billboard Hot 100, accomplishments made without being signed to a label. After an intense bidding war, Drake signed to Aspire/Cash Money/Young Money.
Drake has worked with, and earned the respect of, the most innovative artists in the hip-hop world – Lil Wayne, Kanye West and Eminem, as well as musicians such as Alicia Keys and Mary J Blige to name a few, and is currently working on his debut album, “Thank Me Later,” with longtime producer Noah “40” Shebib, which will be released on June 15, 2010. His current singles “Over”, “Find Your Love” & “Miss Me,” can be heard on the airwaves now.
Since April 2010, Drake has headlined the Away From Home Tour, a Campus Consciousness Tour, which has been selling out, including a 13 minute sell out at Club Nokia, in Los Angeles. Drake will tour Europe and Canada in summer 2010, with stops at major festivals such as Roskilde and Wireless.
